Leveraging Artificial Intelligence for Personalized Learning among Undergraduates of Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba

| Abstract: | This study researches the transformative potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for personalized learning within tertiary institutions. As educational landscapes worldwide evolve, AI has emerged as a powerful tool for tailoring learning experiences to individual student needs, preferences, and abilities. In Northern Nigeria, where educational challenges are often amplified by socioeconomic disparities, inadequate infrastructure, and a shortage of trained educators, AI-driven personalized learning offers a promising avenue to improve educational outcomes and equity. The quantitative method was adopted using survey method as method of data collection. Multistage sampling process was utilized to 377 respondents. Data obtained was analysed using descriptive statistics. The adaptive learning theory was adopted for literary analysis of the study Findings AI has garnered attention for its potential to reolutionalised teaching and learning process, it also illustrates how AI can enhance educational outcomes, and foster student engagement, and contributes to the overall quality of students learning at PAAU. The impacts shows significant increase in academic performance, better test scores, increased engagement, motivation, knowledge retention, and recall. AI-enabled personalized learning led to more efficient learning paths, and real-time feedback improved self-assessment and reflection. The study strongly recommends that Prince Abubakar Audu University, Anyigba, should implement AI-powered learning management systems (LMS) to facilitate personalized learning. These platforms can help analyze student data to recommend customized learning paths, catering to individual needs and learning styles. |
