Abstract:
The study examines women’s involvement in environmental sustainability. Through media advocacy, women come to know about the significance of environmental sustainability. The main objective was to determine major areas of women’s involvement in environmental sustainability through media advocacy. The study was anchored on ecofeminism, which explains the significant roles and connection of women to the environment. Questionnaire was used as instrument for data collection. Fifty-three women were the participants in the study. They were selected from different schools and local government offices in Ethiope West Local Government, Oghara in Delta State. Findings showed that waste management was one of the major areas that women get involved in environmental sustainability by media advocacy news. Consistent media advocacy on environmental issues can increase women’s involvement in environmental sustainability. This is because media advocacy can bring about change behaviour which is imperative for environmental sustainability.
